Mrs. Maria Sarolas

Mrs. Sarolas was born and raised in Illinois.  She is married and has three beautiful boys.  She grew up in Addison, Illinois and attended Addison Trail High School.  This is where her love for working with children with disabilities grew.  She volunteered in high school, working with various students with disabilities that attended Addison Trail.  Years later, she graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree from Illinois State University and was certified a Learning Behavior Specialist (LBS1).  Mrs. Sarolas has had experience working in the public schools as a Special Education Teacher for seven years.  She attended National Louis University for her Masters Degree of Education in the area of Reading and was certified as a Reading Specialist.  After taking some time off teaching to care for her children, she returned to teach part time as a Resource teacher at St. Raphael School in 2014.   She loves working with children in all areas and helps to ensure that accommodations and services are given to those that need it in a faithful and spiritual way.  She helps interpret scores and provides strategies and interventions to classroom teachers.  She provides push in and pull out services to students after analyzing scores and abilities.  Maria collaborates with the school Social Worker, and with the liaison at Naperville District 203 for services and resources for the students in need.  In her spare time, she loves to travel, read and dance.
