Kindergarten
ELA: Phonemic awareness, handwriting, phonics, reading, memory words, fluency, comprehension, blending and vocabulary.
Math: Technology and hands-on experience integrated with Common Core State Standards provide a solid foundation for students. Topics covered are: composing and decomposing numbers to 19, addition and subtraction, measurement, classifying objects, two and three-dimensional shapes.
Religion: Units covered are: Who is God?, Jesus Loves Me, I am Catholic, God’s Rules, and Beginnings and Endings. We supplement the program with prayer (Sign of the Cross, Hail Mary, Our Father, and Grace) as well as participation in weekly Mass.
Science: Units covered include: the human body, our five senses, healthy habits, characteristics of pets, characteristics of objects, growth of plants, living and non-living things, seasons and weather conditions.
Social Science: The topics covered include: holidays, seasons, current events.
First Grade

Religion: The Our Sunday Visitor series supports a solid foundation in faith formation. We supplement the program with prayer, service projects and participation in weekly Mass.
Science: Life stages of humans, trees, sunlight, water, soil, animals and their habitats, what is inside our bodies, insects.
Social Science: Social Studies Weekly, a program designed specifically for first grade students in the State of Illinois, covers topics such as transportation, history, communities, money and trade, maps and more. We supplement this curriculum with readers designed to go along with the series and various service projects.
Second Grade
ELA: Reading, spelling, comprehension, grammar, punctuation, and usage, discussion and critique, authentic fiction in real chapter books and expressive writing.
Math: Technology and hands-on experience integrated with Common Core State Standards provide a solid foundation for students. Topics covered are: applying addition and subtraction concepts, number patterns, adding and subtracting two-digit numbers, money, data analysis, time, customary and metric lengths, geometric shapes.
Religion: The Our Sunday Visitor series supports a solid foundation in faith formation. We supplement the program with prayer, service projects and participation in weekly Mass. Children also receive the sacraments of Reconciliation and First Communion during second grade.
Science: Physical properties of matter, rocks and minerals, forces and work, simple machines, sound and light, and birds.
Social Science: Our community, our Earth, our past, all about work, our government.
Third Grade

Topics covered are: place value, addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, properties, equations, fractions, measurement, interpreting data, perimeter, area, and geometry.

Science: Solar System, elements, compounds, physical changes, atmosphere, Earth’s structure, seed plants, amphibians and reptiles.
Social Science: People build communities, communities have history, communities at work, communities have governments, many cultures, one country.
Fourth Grade

Science: The nature of science, design and function, classifying organisms, growth and survival, structure and function, ecosystems, water, Earth, space, properties, matter, forces, motion, energy.
