Volunteering

St. Raphael School parents are an integral part of our community. Our families form unique bonds together as they support our students. Every year we ask school families to prayerfully consider how they can share their time and talent.
There are numerous opportunities for involvement in both classroom and social settings. Parents can actively participate in the life of the school by serving on School Board, Athletic Board or on one of our Home & School committees. Other opportunities exist with varying degrees of commitment. Some of these include:

• coaching a sports team               • becoming a room parent
• chaperoning field trips               • Christmas sharing drive
• attending school Masses           • parents in prayer
• supervising recess                     • helping at the school picnic

Safe Environment

The Diocese of Joliet requires that each volunteer complete a Protecting God’s Children workshop and complete the following forms: Background Check, Acknowledgement Form (for receipt of Policy Concerning Sexual Abuse of Minors and Standards of Behavior Against Child Abuse) and a Volunteer Application. You must provide the school office with a copy of your Protecting God’s Children certification of completion if taken at a parish outside of St. Raphael. Volunteers are required to complete all steps before being allowed to work with our school children.
