Mrs. Karen Knecht: Social Worker

Mrs. Knecht is so excited to join the St. Raphael Catholic School family! After earning her Bachelor of Art in Psychology from Auburn University, she worked as a group leader in a therapeutic high school for teens struggling with mental health issues. When her daughter was born, she decided to stay home to spend more time with her and eventually, her two sons. She loved supporting them and volunteering in their schools, but when her youngest was in middle school, she began to feel restless. She returned to college to earn an Associates degree in Photography and worked part-time as a commercial photographer. When her children left for college, she realized she missed helping others, so she attended DePaul University and earned a Master of education in Counseling. She truly believes in the power of a positive, supportive school environment and can’t wait to bring her life experiences and knowledge to St. Raphael. She is available to assist students with any social emotional, academic, or career and college planning needs they may have.
